That’s why we checked into the city’s most talked-about stays – from all-villa resorts and playful lifestyle hotels to historic grande dames done right. These aren’t just places to crash for the night, but truly dreamy escapes that are well worth your time (and splurge).
1. Raffles Singapore
Raffles Singapore has always been at the top of our hotel bucket list. This grand dame of Beach Road has been around since 1887, when it was just a modest 10-room hotel by the sea. Now, it’s home to 115 luxurious suites, all meticulously restored to balance modern comforts with old-world glamour. Dine at top-notch restaurants like Butcher’s Block, try the famous Singapore Sling at Long Bar, or peek into the library to view a fascinating collection of museum-worthy antiques. And despite it’s legendary status, Raffles Singapore still manages to feel like a laid-back tropical escape.

2. The Standard Singapore
The Standard Singapore’s opening on December 14, 2024 brought a much-needed dose of playful cool to Orchard Road. Equal parts stylish and irreverent, this lifestyle hotel is chockful of buzzy social spaces, and a relaxed, anything-goes energy. We love its bold interiors, the greenery woven through the property, and a pool scene that’s understatedly ‘Miami’. It’s a refreshing contrast to its more traditional neighbours – perfect for offbeat travellers who want comfort without formality.

3. Mandarin Oriental
Fresh from a major glow-up, Mandarin Oriental Singapore proves that luxury can still be seriously family-friendly. On top of polished-yet-warm spaces, its Marina Bay address means you get postcard views. What won our hearts, though, was its thoughtful approach to staying with kids: think spacious family suites and design touches to keep the little tots entertained.

It’s the perfect home-away-from-home, just with five-star settings and a front-row seat to the NDP airshow and fireworks if you stay during the season, which I got to witnessed!”

4. Raffles Sentosa
You can expect only the best from the Raffles brand. Raffles Sentosa is its newest concept, an all-villa resort tucked away in a quiet corner of Sentosa for maximum privacy and relaxation. Here, you get butler service, generous outdoor spaces, lush landscaping, and serene pools. It manages all this indulgence without being flashy – and if you need some excitement after all that tranquility, all the attractions on the Island of Fun are just a couple of minutes away.

5. Colugo Camp
Here’s a back-to-nature glamping experience for all you outdoorsy types. Colugo Camp swaps turn-down service for campfires, forest sounds, and quick connections with fellow glampers. There are 20 tents in total, each thoughtfully set-up with plush beds, a work space, air-conditioning, two fans, and free Wi-Fi. 6. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore
Here’s an oldie but goldie. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore turned 31 this year, but still managed to surprise us with its excellent facilities and a bevy of fresh offerings. It’s day-to-night dining spot One-Ninety has a new modern Asian menu, and it’s recently pivoted towards more wellness offerings such as new pickleball courts, a gorgeous gym, and even a longevity clinic. “I only stayed in Four Seasons in 2026, though I must say it was a great stay. Had some of the best shut-eye this year on the dreamy, cloud-like pillows (pillow menu included). Stuffed myself silly at the impressive breakfast buffet. And had a much-needed detox at the sauna and steam room after a few laps in the quiet pool. Staycations usually tire me out, so I didn’t expect to actually leave well-rested and refreshed.”
